ITS Maintenance on April 3-4, 2021

The following maintenance works will be carried out on April 3-4, 2021 (Saturday and Sunday) and the major services to be affected are:

  1. In-house developed applications under HKU Portal : Sun 7:00 am – 10:00 am

  2. Campus network services : Sun 8:00 am – 9:00 am

  3. FFOS (Financial Functions for Operational Staff), Oracle Financials, Web Debit Note System and Web Receipt System : Sun 10:00 am – 1:00 pm

Details of the maintenance works are tabulated below and please do not access these services during the affected periods:

April 3, 2021 (Sat) 1:00 pm – 5:00 pm ServiceNow system for version upgrade ITS self-reporting system and eForm system (https://itsnow.hku.hk) will experience slow performance during the maintenance period.
April 4, 2021 (Sun) 7:00 am – 10:00 am Central servers supporting various in-house developed applications under HKU Portal for OS patch update All in-house developed applications under HKU Portal will experience two 15-minute service interruptions (note: applications under Human Capital Management System (HCMS), Student Information System (SIS), MyEmail, My eLearning and MyLibrary will NOT be affected)
8:00 am – 9:00 am Web application firewall There will be a 2-minute interruption to the campus network services.
8:00 am – 11:00 am Central email servers supporting the gateway for outgoing email (mail7.hku.hk), graduate.hku.hk email service and HKU mailing lists (@listserv.hku.hk) for patch update Each of the affected servers will experience an interruption of 10 minutes.
Servers supporting Computer Aided Facilities Management (CAFM) System for OS patching CAFM system will be suspended.
10:00 am – 1:00 pm Servers supporting Oracle Financials for OS patching Services including FFOS (Financial Functions for Operational Staff), Oracle Financials, Web Debit Note System and Web Receipt System will be suspended.
3:00 pm – 8:00 pm HKU Convene Paperless Meeting System for system patching HKU Convene Paperless Meeting System will be suspended.
