Four New Central IT Initiatives

Information Technology Services (ITS) will be launching four new central IT initiatives from July 2019 to help provide smarter work and campus life experience to staff, students and department administrators. The new initiatives are:

  • Attendance@HKU – online attendance taking service available at the centrally timetabled classrooms can be extended to departmental classrooms and laboratories which eliminates queues and manual effort in record consolidation.
  • HKU Event Calendar – facilitates colleagues and students to opt-in University events of interest that can synchronise with their personal calendars.
  • Convene Paperless Meetings – the software helps arrange and conduct meetings using the functions of meeting notification, agenda distribution and voting.  That helps improve meeting efficiency and productivity through a comprehensive set of mobile app tools for iPad, Android, Mac and Windows devices for supporting meeting preparation and proceedings, apart from reducing paper usage.
  • Mobile Payment for Department Services – facilitates departments in fees/charges collection and product sales at their service counters using mobile app; income collected will be credited into departments’ designated accounts automatically which streamlines the income reconciliation process between departments and FEO.
