Hong Kong Access Federation (HKAF)

Do you have any online web service you wish to extend it for use by staff and students in other sister institutions in Hong Kong?  The headache of managing a huge number of user accounts may stop you from doing so.

Here is a good news for you - Hong Kong Access Federation (HKAF) may be an antidote for your headache.

HKAF is a trusted authentication framework which allows staff and students of participating institutions to access online services and resources across tertiary institutions in Hong Kong and around the world.  ITS actively participated in the development of the HKAF over the last two years and the System was put into production in September 2017.

Being a member of the HKAF, HKU enables her staff and students to use their HKU Portal UID and PIN to access a variety of services and resources from other participating institutions for teaching, learning and research via HKAF.  In addition, HKAF has successfully joined eduGAIN in October 2017 which is an international federation interconnecting identity access federations around the world.  The joining of eduGAIN allows University staff and students in accessing a myriad of services and resources across different federations and facilitates collaboration in the global research and education community.
