We are pleased to provide updates on several new services and enhancements that have been recently introduced or soon be implemented in the Chi Wah Learning Commons.
Experimental 3D Printing Service
An experimental 3D printing service will be newly introduced in the Chi Wah Learning Commons in this summer and a 3D printer will be set up in the Student Advisory Services Zone on the 2/F. More details about this new service will be announced in the next issue of ITS Newsletter.
Conversion of Coffee Corner and A3 Scanning Service
The previous coffee corner on the 1/F of Chi Wah Learning Commons will be converted into learning space equipped with new PCs. A new A3 size scanner, together with the existing scanner supporting A4 size, will be put together in that area to form a designated corner supporting scanning service.
Mac Bar Extension
The Mac bar on the 1/F of Chi Wan Learning Commons has recently been extended to the 2/F near the Student Advisory Services Zone. These iMacs are of 27” in size with 5k resolution display and powerful CPU.
Operation of 2/F Chi Wah Learning Commons
To provide more quiet study space for revision by students, the 2/F of Chi Wah Learning Commons was turned into a quiet zone during the last assessment period in May 2015. The opening hours of this floor have also been extended to include weekends starting from 1 June 2015. The opening hours of 1/F and 2/F are now aligned after this service extension.
If you have any suggestions on improving the Chi Wah Learning Commons facilities and services, please feel free to contact the undersigned.
