End of Support for Windows XP and Office 2003 after 8 April 2014

After 12 years, Microsoft ended the support for Windows XP after April 8, 2014. Microsoft will no longer provide security patches, hotfixes or technical updates for Windows XP and Windows Update will no longer be available.  PCs running Windows XP will become highly vulnerable to security risks.

Similarly, support and updates for Microsoft Office 2003 is no longer available after April 8, 2014.

Windows XP and Office 2003 users are required to migrate to Windows 7/8 and Office 2010/2013 so that they can receive regular security updates to protect their PCs from malicious attacks.

To mitigate the risk of hacking by leveraging Windows XP's security vulnerabilities, all Windows XP machines must be removed from the campus network latest by 31 July 2014.
