Relocation of ITS Offices and Permanent Closure of PC Laboratories in Run Run Shaw Building

The ITS offices on the 1/F and 2/F of the Run Run Shaw Building (RRS) will be relocated to the Library Building (Old Wing) (LBO) on 9 and 10 January 2014. I would like to update you on the following arrangements-

  1. The Service Desk at RRS 104 providing in-person assistance will be relocated to the service counter next to the spiral staircase on the 1/F of the Chi Wah Learning Commons effective from 27 December 2013. The opening hours of the Service Desk remain unchanged.
     
  2. The General Enquiry Counter on 2/F of RRS will be closed effective from 10 January 2014. After relocation, our counter services will resume on the 1/F of LBO on 13 January 2014, with the following new opening hours -

Monday – Friday: 09:00 – 13:00 and 14:00 – 17:45
Closed on Saturday, Sunday, public and University holidays.

For enquiries on Saturday, please feel free to contact our Service Desk on 1/F of the Chi Wah Learning Commons.

  1. The PC laboratories on the 1/F and 2/F of RRS (RRS101, 103, 113 and 201) will be permanently closed starting from 24 December 2013. 

    Students and staff are advised to use PCs and printing facilities in the Chi Wah Learning Commons, The Oval, and the faculty-based PC Laboratories when they are not occupied for classes.  Printing facility will be made available at The Oval, 1/F of the Knowles Building starting from 31 December 2013.

    Users may check the availability of PCs in locations with communal PC facilities and their opening hours through the HKU App PC Availability or https://hkuesd.hku.hk:8000/pcavail/servlet/web.

  2. ITS staff will have new office phone numbers after relocation to the LBO. Their new phone numbers are available in the Staff Communication Directory inside the HKU Portal (Campus Information Services > Staff Communication Directory) and the HKU Apps (available for iOS and Android).  Users may also look them up through the Outlook Global Address List (GAL).
