New PC Availability Application (Web and Mobile Versions)

IT Services has recently launched a new PC Availability application to facilitate staff and students to look for communal PC’s available for use in the Chi Wah Learning Commons and the Run Run Shaw PC Laboratories (Rooms 101, 103 and 201).

Web Version

The web version of the PC Availability application is accessible via the ITS website (http://www.its.hku.hk) -> Help -> PC Availability.

The web application supports the following browsers:

  • Internet Explorer 9 and 10
  • Firefox
  • Chrome
  • Safari

After entering PC Availability, the first page shows the number of PC’s available and in use as shown in the example below.

On clicking the link of a venue, you will see a graphical view of it showing which PC’s are in use () and which are available ().   The number inside the green box shows the PC number.

Mobile Version

The mobile version of the PC Availability application is available under the HKU Mobile App (HKU App) version 1.2.  The HKU App is available on both Android and Apple iOS devices; and it is ready for download from Google Play and iTunes App Store. 

You can access the PC Availability mobile application via HKU App -> Staff corner or Student corner (HKU Portal UID and PIN required) -> Learning Facilities -> PC Availability

Extension to Faculty-based PC Laboratories

The PC Availability application will be extended to cover PC laboratories in the Faculty of Business and Economics, the Faculty of Education and the Faculty of Engineering.   We will keep you posted on the latest development.
