Enhancement of WiFi Connectivity in Central Classrooms

With the increasing number of mobile gadgets being used by students, the demand for WiFi connectivity in University campuses keeps surging.  A total of 145 WiFi Access Points of IEEE 802.11n standard are being deployed in central classrooms in the Main Campus, the Sassoon Road Campus and the Prince Philip Dental Hospital to provide one Access Point capable of supporting around 60 simultaneous connections for every 25 to 35 seats in a classroom.  The breakdowns of the Access Points added by buildings are summarized in the following table. The upgrade project will be completed by the end of March 2013.
