Course No. C0413797 - High Performance FORTRAN

This course consists of 3 lessons, each lesson lasts 3 hours.

This seminar on High Performance FORTRAN provides an easy way to write data parallel programs in parallel computers such as the hkusub and hkusp2. The High Performance FORTRAN is an extension of the FORTRAN 90 in several areas, including:

The High Performance Fortran compiler is available on both hkusub and hkusp2.

Prerequisite : Knowledge of FORTRAN 90 is a MUST.

Course No. C0313897 & C0413897 - Introduction to FORTRAN 90 Programming

This course consists of 3 lessons, each lesson lasts 3 hours.

FORTRAN 90 is a very good language for scientific programming. It is fully compatible with FORTRAN 77 and it provides very powerful features which make the FORTRAN language much more robust and usable.

FORTRAN 90 is also the base language for the data parallel language High Performance FORTRAN. Knowledge of FORTRAN 90 is definitely a prerequisite for scientific computation nowadays. Students with a good foundation of FORTRAN 90 will be able to write programs to support any scientific research projects more efficiently and produce more reliable results.

The FORTRAN 90 compiler is available on a variety of machines in Computer Centre . These include hkusub, hkursc and hkusp2.

Prerequisite : Experience in at least one programming language such as Fortran 77, BASIC, C, Java or Pascal.
