User Guide

Overview

VPC Inventory System (VPCINV) is a system designed for departments to enquire the requests and inventory records of Virtual PC (VPC). Designated colleague(s)/authorized delegates can access the said records in his/her department.

The following colleagues are granted with the right to access VPCINV by default:

  1. Head of Department
  2. Applicants of CF85 submitted

Head of Department can assign his/her colleagues to access VPCINV via CF125a.

 

Available Functions under VPCINV

VPC Request Enquiry

Enquire the current status and details of CF85 submitted

VPC Hardware Configuration Enquiry

Enquire the hardware configuration and inventory record of VPC assigned in the department

VPC User Enquiry

Enquire the user information of VPC users in the department

 

Access to VPCINV

  1. Login HKU Portal.
  2. Type “VPC” in the Search field and click the link VPC Inventory System.

 

User Guide

I. VPC Request Enquiry

  1. Click the “Requests” button on the left menu.
  1. Define the search parameters such as CF85 no., Faculty, Department, Location and Status as well as grouping parameter.   
  1. Click the “Search” button to see the search results. Mouse over the icon  to show more details.
  1. You can click the “Export to Excel” button to get the search result in Excel.

 

II. VPC Hardware Configuration Enquiry

  1. Click the “VPCs” button on the left menu.
  1. Define the search parameters such as CF85 no., HKU Inventory No., Faculty, Department, Location and Status as well as grouping parameter.
  1. Click the “Search” button to see the search results. Mouse over the icon  to show more details.
  1. You can click the “Export to Excel” button to get the search result in Excel.

 

III. VPC User Enquiry

  1. Click the “Users” button on the left menu .
  1. Define the search parameters such as Staff No., Phone No., Faculty, Department and Location as well as grouping parameter.
  1. Click the “Search” button to see the search results.                                                                                                 
  1. You can click the “Export to Excel” button to get the search result in Excel.
