HKU staff/students can apply for a personal website on web.hku.hk. To apply, please fill in CF149. Your personal website will be automatically created upon account creation.
Your personal webpage is kept in a directory named "public_html" under your web.hku.hk account. This is the directory where all your webpages and picture files are kept. If any webpages or picture files are saved outside this directory, they cannot be displayed by the browser.
To access your personal website, simply type the URL:

After you have edited your webpage, save the file as "index.html" under the "public_html" folder of your web.hku.hk account. The updated index.html file will replace the previous file in that directory.
You can upload your edited page to the web.hku.hk server using the FTP program. You have to connect to the HKU network (connect to HKUVPN if you are off campus) for sending files to your server account.
