HPC System Infrastructure

In the academic and research arena, High Performance Computing (HPC) facilities are heavily used for solving computational problems that are not flexible to be done using conventional computers due to the huge amount of CPU power, memory, network and disk space requirements.

In order to facilitate intensive computations, a 64-bit research oriented Linux cluster system called gridpoint.hku.hk to support collaborative computation Grid research project with mainland China, and serves as part of the China National Grid (CNGrid) Grid point. The heterogeneous Linux cluster hpc2015.hku.hk, which comprises diverse and emerging computing resources, aims to support both advanced compute- and data-intensive research.

Users are requested to acknowledge the use of ITS HPC facilities in their research publications. Please see Acknowledgement for more information.
