Installation and Setup Procedures for Microsoft Azure Information Protection (AIP) App on iOS devices

Introduction

Microsoft AIP app is required to view protected files that others have shared with you.

Prerequisite

AIP app, requires an iOS 7.0 or later. Compatible with iPhone, iPad and iPod touch.

Installation and Setup Procedures

Note: this user guide is prepared using iOS 10.0.2.

  1. Go to App Store.
  2. App store icon
  3. In the search box, type “azure information protection”.
  4. Search Azure information protection
  5. Tap Get button next to RMS sharing.
  6. Get the App
  7. Tap Install.
  8. Install the App
  9. After installation, tap the icon AIP Viewer to open the app.
  10. Open AIP Viewer
  11. After installation, tap the icon AIP View to open the app and swipe through the introduction. Tap Done to complete the installation.
  12. Go through the introduction
  13. Open a protected file or email. You will be prompted to sign in for the AIP viewer.
  14. Open a protected file or email
  15. Select Copy to AIP Viewer.
  16. Copy to AIP Viewer
  17. Click Accept.
  18. Accept the protection
  19. Login the AIP viewer with the username UID@hku.hk.
  20. Login with UID@hku.hk
  21. Input your HKU Portal PIN and click Sign in to complete.
  22. Enter the portal pin
