1. SMARTER@HKU

SMARTER@HKU is a programme initiated to modernise professional services, thus creating the enabling platform for the University to pursue its vision to become Asia’s Global University by 2025.

2. IT Organization and Processes (ITOP) Task Force

ITOP is one of the Building Blocks working under the SMARTER@HKU Programme. It is led by Information Technology Services (ITS) aiming to deliver an optimised IT organisation structure to enable better services and streamline identified processes. Departments will be able to enjoy efficiency gains and cost savings through the shared services and business partnership.

ITOP is steered by the ITOP Task Force with its membership as follow-

3. SMARTER@HKU IT Developments

ITOP Task Force of the programme undertook a survey in early 2018 to identify means of work efficiency improvements in the support of IT use across the campus, and concluded that the following five central IT services could be developed for reducing the workload of IT support staff in departments:

1. Virtual PCs (VPC) (available soon)
2. Audio Visual Standards (AVS) (available soon)
3. Enhancement of ITS Cloud (Virtual Data Centre) (available soon)
4. Cloud-based Website Content Management System (CMS)
5. Common Facilities Booking System (HKUFBS) (available soon)
